  12. This file contains the Installer for the GroupWise 5.2.6 Macintosh Client.  The
  13. Issues section lists the fixes this file contains since the last release.  This
  14. client can be used against a 5.2 or 5.5 Post Office. It is the same Installer
  15. that will be shipping with the GroupWise 5.5 Support Pack 1 (it is newer than
  16. the shipping 5.5 CD release).

  29. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

  31. 1. Back up the existing GroupWise installation.
  32. 2. Run the installer ("GroupWise 5.2.6") and follow the instructions as
  33. prompted.  NOTE: To get Internet Config installed, you must choose the CUSTOM
  34. button (the screen containing the button will show CUSTOM, QUIT, and INSTALL
  35. buttons); then, choose the FULL INSTALL method.

  37. Internet Config is required if you wish to be able to click on embedded URLs
  38. within the message body of a mail item and have it open that page into your
  39. Internet browser.

  41. ISSUE:

  43. This release includes the following updates since the previous one
  44. (gm52usc2.bin) on the Mac Client:
  45.  
  46. 1)    If a user's name is changed in the GroupWise Administrator snap-in, that
  47. change would not be reflected in the client's browswer window next to the globe
  48. icon.
  49. 2)    The client will now display an error message if it cannot load the contents
  50. of a shared folder.  This prevents a previously reported problem where a
  51. recipient of a shared folder could, under very rare circumstances, see items in
  52. other folders (not shared) that are in the Mailbox of the shared folder's
  53. owner.  In this situation, simply refresh the folder to have it try reading the
  54. contents again.
  55. 3)    The Inso Outside/In Viewer Technology v. 5.1.1 was added for the PowerPC
  56. Macs (only).  See TID 2939164 for a complete explanation on why the 68k Macs
  57. could not use this new viewer technology. 
  58. 4)    Fixes memory leaks.
  59. 5)    Shared folder problem in isolated cases with a couple of customers.
  60. 6)    Detects a date format of dd-mm-yy in the OS and displays the date format
  61. accordingly in GroupWise.
  62. 7)    If the archive location was set to a server and the user was not logged on
  63. to that server during any given session, the archive path would be changed to
  64. the local drive without warning.  Now if the server is not available, the user
  65. will get a message that the archive directory is not available. 
  66. 8)    Added department sort in the address book.
  67. 9)    Changed the sort order for appointment view.  Put "subject" before "place"
  68. in the tab order.
  69. 10)    Improved performance of calendar folder and the creation of appts when the
  70. user has a large amount of data in the Calendar.
  71. 11)    The week calendar view had display problems.
  72. 12)    Users would get a "Notify Services Error #20567" in client/server mode due
  73. to the default port being set to "0" (zero).  Now the default port is set to
  74. 1677.
  75. 13)    The menu bar at the top of the screen would grey out.
  76. 14)    The Mac client can now use the [last name] [first name] setting for name
  77. completion.
  78. 15) This new client now handles e-mail addresses in the same format its 32-bit
  79. Windows Client counterpart does (i.e., user@domain.postoffice).  Prior to this,
  80. addressing rules defined in admin were not being recognized by the Mac Client
  81. if they contained the aforementioned address convention.
